Team NZ will be rallied by an influx of New Zealand supporters today on the sidelines, and at home in our lounges. We are grateful to have the backing of so many of our whanau and friends.

Let’s Go New Zealand!

Opening Day Recap | Day 1:

2024 IFAF World Flag Football Championship

New Zealand Mako shook off a spirited Korea in their first outing 33-26.

The world zoomed in on QB Jackson Te Huki's rugby pass endzone delivery securing a sensational six for Centre Isaiah Laulu. “Flag Football - All Black’s style.”

A few hours later our Mako met a clinical Czechia who despite going pound for pound early, did enough in the first stanza to earn the win 41-26.

Aotearoa Flag Ferns had Austria on their toes early with a big opening play by QB Taylor Leauanae to Slot Isabeau Short-Wilcox - who found herself hanging out at halfway unmarked - Beau did a great job adjusting to an outside ball then performed a swift catch-and-go for six.

Unfortunately no victories in the opening day for our ferns who were outdone by both Austria 55-13, and Spain 41-12. “We will need to beat World #17 Switzerland to have any chance of qualifying for the top 16 play-offs” - Head Coach, Ethan Clark.
