After month’s of hardwork and dedication to our preparation - We are here.
It is finally, opening day of the 2024 IFAF World Flag Football Championships.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to our families, friends, fans and sponsors for your unwavering love and support to help get us here. We have felt your wairua with us every step of the way.
Tonight we compete - all our games will be livestreamed free courtesy of ifaf.tv.
Both teams snap at 8.45pm NZT | NZ Men on field 5 & NZ Women on field 6.
Over the past two days our teams have experienced an array of emotions.
First the official NZ Jersey presentation ceremony where each member became custodians of their championship playing kit - whilst it may seem a simple exchange, the coaches and captains took the opportunity to remind each player of their value, their strengths and their sacrifices that have allowed them to be present in this space. Often as humans we are always looking and moving forward - upon each reflection came a wave of inspiration.
Last night, IFAF président Pierre Trochet, declared the World Championship open - amongst a crowd of 660 athlete’s proudly representing their respective nations, our New Zealand athletes donning their traditional All Black attire became overwhelmed with a sense of National Pride.
The emotions felt are critical to our experience and performance - Get online to witness the NZ Mana at 8.45pm tonight.
Let’s go New Zealand
